This is a benefit page for Krue Czarnecki, who two years ago, went through what no child should ever have to go through.
On January 13, 2010, Krue Murphy Czarnecki went through what no child should EVER have to go through. At just 10 months old, he was the victim of traumatic brain injury and retinal hemorrhaging, at his daycare.
Most of Krue’s damage was to his left side. He continues to need daily therapy to help him re-learn how to crawl, walk; just the simple things we all take for granted!! Picking up food and toys with his little hands are a struggle for Krue. He also receives therapies to improve his speech, vision, and hearing.
In April, Krue went to Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN for a 6-week intensive, in-patient rehab stay to regain more movement on his left side. Krue's parents, Kellie and Neil alternated their time staying at the hospital with Krue; the other parent staying home with their 6-year-old daughter, Karsen.
On August 23rd, 2010 Krue was accepted at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, in NE for an in-patient therapy program. This facility specializes in pediatric brain injuries. They stayed there for 6 weeks!
Krue is working very hard and thankfully, making great strides walking and learning to use his left side for daily activities, such as eating, turning a page in a book, etc. He is saying more words and learning again how to communicate. Kellie and Neil are still alternating staying with Krue at Madonna Rehabilitation Center and the other at home with their daughter.
As expected, Kellie & Neil have incurred significant medical expenses as a result of his injury, as not all of the medical treatments are covered by insurance. They are striving to obtain the best therapies they can find for their little guy to help him get better and be able to do all the things little children at his age should be able to do at this point, but are struggling financially.
Can you help?.
